Paragraph.
I just couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the picture or the Gulf coast, my heart is sad at the result of this catastrophe in my home state, I wonder how many decades it will take to really see what has been done to our environment? I don't think most people will even think about the consequence to much longer than the oils well is capped, and probably only in passing conversations after a news cast. Everyone in agreement about the potential environmental effects. Or how British petroleum should pay, pay, pay!
Being politically correct in this matter is irrelevant, in about 10 years we will not only see but realize some of those long term effects; whatever thy may be. In 20 years we will really see some long term effects, Famine perhaps? After all most of our wild life lives in the water. Already a big majority of wild life is wiped out, that means off the face of the earth by the way.

And what about the people who depend on the fishing industry to survive? Who keeps that part of Louisiana from becoming even more economically challenged? BP? My dad called me the other day, and he says it's so quiet gone are the sounds of the frogs, crickets, birds, nothing is the same.

Unfortunately, we choose to be blind to everything we're doing to the planet. We KNOW that oil isn't good, and we need an alternate energy source... but it doesn't matter. We still drive our cars. So even though everyone is blaming BP, WE are to blame! BP had created the spill, but we demanded the oil in the first place and this is the result of it. So everyone who uses oil is responsible. Which means we are all killing the planet.

Thank Goodness that today they have finally gotten the oil spill capped. How long this lasts we won't know. Now we'll see what they have to say about all the clean up that needs to be done. The devastation will not be known for years to come. This was worse than the Valdez spill. Now we wait for the President to talk. Which I wonder if it's not more smoke that's being blown around and nothing getting done. My heart goes out to the families who have lost everything because they don't have an income and haven't for awhile due to this spill.

Christy you're right....seems like our needs for more more more is killing our planet quicker than needs to be. Even though we couldn't ever imagine going back to the olden days when things were rarely motorized, it sure wasn't destroying the planet and there wasn't as much of our land being turned into pavement and buildings.
